New Knitty up!
New Knitty up today!!!! What do we think?
Emma’s unmentionables crack me up! They’re very pretty and practical and I’d love to make a pair for me in adult size for wearing up skirts this winter!
Charm shrug - meh. It’s pretty but it’s knit in pieces, it’s made in white, and the construction isn’t the unique type that I expect from Knitty ya know? It’s not knit flat and constructed like origami for eg.
Juju - eeeeeeee how cute!! And practical! And gorgeous! And yay I can now see how to do the xoxoxo cabling.
Jaden is lovely to look at. Gorgeous construction but it strikes me as a little fiddly for a sweater for me for winter. It’s knit in cotton on 3.75mm needles as well, which makes me hands ache just thinking about it!
Nob hill is pretty in a "she’s a model and would look great in a hessian sack" because it would make anyone with breasts look a lot top heavy. Which probably means I’ll make it now because I’m not thrilled with it now, and San Fran’s weather sounds a lot like our Autumn, I’m also disappointed that Knitty would get involved in the mulesing issue without actually understanding it!! A letter to the editor to that effect is on its way.
Marjorie - looks fiddly and not flattering on my body, but looks detailed and sweet.
Talia has my name all over it! I need a vest to go over my uniform for work in winter this year and the one that I’m knitting is not my favourite so I’m going to knit this! *adds to Ravelry cue*
Yosemite (summer top) is pretty and lovely and perfect perhaps for next summer?
Honeycomb has me lusting again for vests. What is with Knitty and publishing these things far to close to our winter
?
Lace ribbon scarf is gorgeous. Fellow knitters will know of my addiction to scarves. I’m knitting the Day Flower scarf at the moment and it’s lovely but this scarf is similar to one that I tore out of a magazine as inspiration. I love learning how they are consctructed!
Laminaria is a lace project that looks far too complicated for my short attention span. I’ll stick to scarves and look at lace shawls from afar, mk?
Mosey answers my call for cool textured legwarmers that are knit in the round! And I bet you didn’t even know I wanted some.
Paw cosy is the solution to a problem we don’t have here in Adelaide but it is a good idea.
Saito is gorgeous and lovely but I’m surprised that she didn’t continue them to be knee length, with all the detail and effort she’s gone to! I’m not in a sock knitting mood atm though.
Posey is amazing. AMAZING I tell you - mitred square triangles in a sock. Amazing. But the ends! Think of the ends!!!
America in China is a man’s sock as in it’s designed to be hard wearing with lots of lovely detail on the sole and heel! Would be very warm too.
Brighton looks great and I may steal the idea of the liner to line my jester’s hat of doom from a few months ago but I have enough bags so don’t need more
.
Spirogyra - more fingerless gloves!!!! Yay! Look a lot like other patterns I’ve seen around the place but I already have 3 pairs of fingerless gloves so I don’t need another pair, right? Or do I - perhaps in my own hand-dyed sock wool?

I had rather similar thoughts - mostly along the same lines for Nob Hill (more like ‘me likey but how big would I look in THAT’) and def with Spirogyra (hmmm - very similar to others) and Posey (wow - looks like a lot of ends and work).
